Official complaint forms for your Spanish vacation rental
Many foreign owners do not know it, but every tourist home in Spain must keep official complaint forms available. An unhappy guest who asks for them and is refused can report this to the authorities. Here is how it works.

What it is and why
The hojas de reclamaciones are official complaint forms that every registered tourist home must be able to hand to a guest. You also display a small sign stating that the forms are available. The system gives guests a formal route to file a complaint with the consumer authority.
Not having the forms available is a separate offence, independent of the complaint itself.
How to arrange it
You request the forms from the regional consumer office of Andalusia. Keep a set in the property along with your VFT number and contact details. Build the notice into your guest information so everything is clear.
Respond quickly and kindly to complaints; most are resolved before they become formal.
Frequently asked questions
- Should the sign be multilingual?
- A Spanish and English version is wise; many guests do not speak Spanish.
- What if a guest fills in a form?
- You receive a copy and can respond to the authority within the set deadline.
- Can I offer this digitally?
- The paper forms remain mandatory, but your digital guidebook can point to them.
